NHS Pharmacy First Scotland

NHS Pharmacy First Scotland provides support for people living in Scotland, those registered with a Scottish GP Practice, residents in care homes and care settings, gypsy travellers and people who are experiencing homelessness.

 

Help with knowing who to make an appointment with

  • Care Advisor Team - Registration Paperwork, Change of address/contact details, Repeat Prescriptions, Fit note repeats (if no appointment needed), Medical Reports & letter requests from GP, all associated administration with health care provision
  • Healthcare Assistant - Blood Tests, Blood Pressure, Wound Dressings (after seeing the Practice Nurse), B12, Injections and Removal of Stitches
  • Practice Nurse - Bloods Tests, Blood Pressure, Dressings, Injections, Removal of Stitches, Smears (Cervical Screening), Spirometry and Doppler, Chronic Disease Clinics, Contraception Advice, Coil checks / removal and Asthma
  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) - Coughs, sore throats and colds, Chest Infections Ear, Nose and Throat Infections Skin rashes, Shingles, Eczema and Acne, Most Gynaecological problems, Contraception, Simple Strains, Sinusitis, Asthma and Female Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
  • Pharmacy/Chemist - Advice on Medicine, Coughs and Colds, Minor Ailments, Emergency Contraception, Uncomplicated UTIs (Urinary Infection)
  • Health Visitors (Pre School Children and Babies) - Infant Feeding & Weaning, Constipation & Toilet Training and Behavioural Problems
  • Minor Injury Unit, Queen Margaret Hospital (Injury within 72 hours) - Arm, Wrist and hand injuries - Knee, ankle and foot injuries - Back, shoulder and rib injuries - Head and neck injuries in people who are fully conscious - Cuts and wounds which may need dressing and stitches - Minor burns and scalds.
